Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Kurt has over 30 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. He started his career with Prudential as a field agent and became a partner in a regional planning firm specializing in Estate and Business planning. He joined the life brokerage division of Prudential winning the national sales trophy as part of the inside sales team. Kurt moved to ReliaStar (ING/VOYA) where he spent over 20 years in various executive leadership roles from product management, sales, distribution and marketing. As the CMO for the Insurance Division, he was part of the executive team for the Individual Life, Annuity and Employee Benefits divisions.

As part of the Executive Leadership Team at DBS, Kurt’s role is to build a strong sales and marketing organization to drive increased market share and increased effectiveness to support our customers. In addition, Kurt plays a role in helping to drive the strategic future direction of the firm.

Kurt was named as one of the NAILBA ID 20 Award Recipients in 2020. This award honors individuals within the insurance industry who are innovators and change-makers, helping to shape the future of independent distribution. These recipients are considered pioneers who have made important contributions to the insurance profession, and who inspire us by their intelligence, creativity, and leadership.

Kurt graduated from the University of St. Thomas and received his insurance designation, LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow (LLIF) from Wharton/LIMRA, and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) from the American College. He maintains his 6,63, 26 with FINRA.
