DBS Welcomes Ed Curtin as Newest Field Relationship Manager
Diversified Brokerage Services, Inc. (DBS) is delighted to announce that Ed Curtin has joined the DBS team as its newest Field Relationship Manager for the Northwest territory, which includes Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Idaho, and Alaska. Ed, who comes to us with several years of experience in the life insurance industry, will be extremely valuable in helping advisors increase their life insurance sales by helping find the opportunities that already exist in their book of business. Also, his firsthand knowledge working as an insurance agent gives him a unique perspective in better understanding client needs, and he’ll be an asset in helping advisors understand the different life insurance solutions that exist in a multi-carrier brokerage general agency.
“We’re extremely pleased to have Ed join the organization with the background and experience he brings to the team,” explained Kurt Fasen, Sales & Marketing Executive. “We’re very excited to have him on board.”
Ed began his life insurance career with John Hancock serving as a Senior Sales Coordinator in their life insurance division. Following this, he began working for a wealth advisory firm where he focused on attracting new advisor relationships. Deciding to switch gears and leave the insurance industry, Ed began a startup company in New York named “Nap York;” however, his interest in life insurance soon began to surface again so he decided to venture out as an independent agent. Though he found great success there and particularly enjoyed advising his clients on different insurance solutions, he was looking to round out his portfolio of experience and chose to land at DBS to use his skills in a large Brokerage General Agency.
Ed attended the Providence College School of Business in Providence, Rhode Island, where he was a Board Officer of the Outdoor Adventure Club. He also was a college admissions ambassador and a member of the Future Friar Executives. His interest in New Zealand led him to studying abroad at the University of Auckland.
Along with his CLU designation, Ed also has his Series 6 & 63 license and 401k Plan Administrator Designation. Some of Ed’s hobbies include videography, skiing, hiking and sailing. He also enjoys experiencing different cultures through travel, having been to over 20 countries and 5 continents. He enjoys collecting soccer jerseys and has so far collected 15 toward his goal of collecting 50 jerseys from around the world.
